HALLOWEEN TIME! Knotts Berry Farm's Kid Friendly Camp Spooky

Growing up in So. Cal, getting to go to Knott's Scary Farm at Halloween is like a rite of passage - it's the thing to do. One that scared the crap out of me for years to come. Since then, I had a bit of a "fear" of Knott's at Halloween... but last year I was invited to spend the day at "Camp Spooky" and realized that while at night it's all goblins and monsters, weekend days in October are actually very kid friend - and a whole 'lotta fun.

This daytime, non-scare celebration celebrates "cheer rather than fear" with  activities and of course, trick-or-treating.

Kids can take part in Snoopy’s Costume Party and show off their costume or watch Charlie Brown’s Spooktacular Show or explore the wacky hijinks of the Monster Factory, a fun interactive maze for the whole family in which the little ones create the things that go bump in the night.
Also included with theme park admission, kids can fill their goodie bag with sweet treats given out at five Trick-or-Treating locations in Camp Spooky. And finally at the “Creepy Crawly Critter Cave” Knott’s park naturalists will amaze with slithery, slimy, creepy, crawly critters.
Knott's Berry Farm in October is quickly becoming a tradition and is one of the kid's favorite theme park these days.

*disclosure: GigaSavvy invited my family to join them at Camp Spooky for a private event and is providing admission to the theme park.

HipMamaB Local: DYING TO GO BACK - The New DIVE DayClub Opens Saturday at Harrah's Rincon

Hot sun. Hot pool. And AMAZINGLY HOT drinks... this was a random Wednesday for me a few weeks ago when I got a special sneak-peek at the new DIVE Dayclub opening this weekend at Harrah's Rincon in Valley Center. Yes, I know. I have THE life, right? I will admit that I felt that way sitting with my feet in the cool pool sipping on a cucumber margarita... ahhh, the #bloglife.

Here are the official details:

Dive Dayclub is the all-new pool scene at Harrah's Resort. Opening THIS SATURDAY JULY 13th is "Adult Swim Saturdays" - a summertime dance party boasting live DJs, hot bodies and cold drinks—Dive is the Vegas-style pool party without the Vegas drive. Adult Swim Saturdays have different guest DJs all summer long - this weekend is DJ Vice and July 20th will feature Lil John! Follow DIVE Dayclub on Facebook for more information on schedules.

Featuring 21 VIP cabanas, 'ritas cantina, and three pools including the Stage Dive, the (sometimes crazy) Lazy River and SoCal's only swim-up bar, Dive will be THE place this summer. More information, visit: www.DiveDayclub.com.

I honestly can't wait to grab a group of girls, a cabana and a margarita one Saturday this summer... And the best part? They will help you arrange transportation to and from the pool, so you can drink all day and sleep in your own bed that night.

Who's in?

To arrange transportation email: pickmeup@fivegrp.com or book through https://www.dayclubtickets.com/

*disclosure: I was invited to a media preview of DIVE Dayclub for press purposes. I was not compensated for my post and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Additionally - All images in this post were taken with the Samsung NX300 SMART camera. Samsung provided me with a camera to participate in the #Imagelogger program. Do an ALL NIGHTER at the Happiest Place on Earth!

Haven't pulled an all nighter since college (or having an infant)? Have you ever wanted to ride the Matterhorn at midnight? What about a 3 AM teacup spin? Or maybe you want to see the sun rise over the Cadillac Mountain Range?

Well, this weekend you can.

Disneyland Resort is kicking off their "Monstrous Summer" with the park being opened for 24 hours. Start your Memorial Day Weekend on May 24, 2013, at an amazing 24-hour all-nighter in Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. Scream with delight as monster hosts Mike and Sulley drop in from Monsters University. There will also be special limited-edition "all nighter" merchandise available for those who visit the park for this 24 hour Mouse-athon.

And since you will have PLENTY of time to explore both park, be sure to swing by the new Fantasy Faire - a new extension of Fantasyland! Meet princesses in the Royal Hall and listen to new stories with Rapunzel and Belle.

Also debuting next weekend is the new show, Mickey and the Magical Map:

“Mickey and the Magical Map” presents Mickey in his timeless role as the sorcerer’s apprentice. Wise sorcerer Yen Sid directs his Mapmakers, a singing-dancing ensemble cast that paints a wondrous map – capable of taking dreamers to any place imaginable and so large it spans the entire stage of the outdoor Fantasyland Theatre.

Apprentice Mickey lets his curiosity get the better of him and he stumbles upon the map’s magical powers, which take him, along with the audience, on a fantastic journey of imagination in the company of the Mapmakers. The journey, presented through theatrical stage wizardry, unveils wonderful worlds of music, color, adventure and beloved characters with each new direction – all set to an original song, “Journey of the Imagination,” and music from classic Disney films.

It's going to be a monstrously fun summer at Disneyland Resorts... are you planning on going?

*disclosure: I have been invited to a press event at Disneyland next week that includes a hotel room and tickets to the park. I have not been monitarily compensated for this post or any upcoming social media posts about the event.
