NBC's CA-Nonstop "MOMfia Wednesdays"

A few months ago, my co-founder and Editor in Chief of SDMOMfia Stefanie and I were asked by Catherine Garcia to swing by and chat about we were talking about in our little neck of the internet. Our appearance has now turned into a some-what regular feature where we talk about hot topics of the moment, current events and new technologies that we are obsessing over.

Last week we talked one of my new favorite topics. BRONIES

Need of the Moment: White Jeans

I NEED new white jeans. NEED. Not want. It's summer and while I've been wearing my same old pair for weeks now, they are a little big and don't fit me quite the way I want to. But the choices are endless. Do I go skinny, boot cut or wide legged? Ankle length or capri? What is the best option to get me through the summer and fall?

Here is the flared/wide leg option. Only really good with big wedges. And while I love big wedges, I'm not sure how practical they are for me and my life on a regular basis. But I do love how long they make your legs look.

The skinny ankle length white jeans. So perfect with wedges or flats. Looks clean and crisp. Professional yet also hip. But I'm not a 5'10 100 lb model - will they look that great on me?

This picture is just pure perfection. Funny thing was yesterday I wore my old white jeans and a hot pink tank top and got tons of compliments. But apparently now I also need a purple bag and matching flats.

And a chambray shirt.

Forget Calgon - Nordstrom take me away!

Excuses, excuses, excuses

I've been a bit MIA from around these parts recently. It's something that haunts me. It's like ignoring your first born. But what can I say? I've got a lot going on and no one around here expects much from me anyway. :)

But things have been rocking and rolling right along. Summer started with a trip to the beautiful Rancho Las Palmas in Palm Springs. We've yet to really see the sun along the coast, so it was a wonderful getaway to warm up and get a good base tan.But things have been rocking and rolling right along. Summer started with a trip to the beautiful Rancho Las Palmas in Palm Springs. We've yet to really see the sun along the coast, so it was a wonderful getaway to warm up and get a good base tan.

If you are looking to head out to the desert with kids, I strongly suggest you look into Rancho Las Palmas. It's the epitome of "kid friendly," and you never have to leave the pool.

After our quick "mini-break" (I so love that English term, why hasn't it caught on in the US?) we welcomed 3 cousins and aunts and uncles and a Bubbe to San Diego. Unlike 4th of July weekends of the past where we are wearing sweatshirts while watching fireworks, this holiday weekend was amazing - temps in the high 80s and clear blue skies. It was one of those weekends where you fall in love all over again with San Diego. We even managed to squeeze in a quick family portrait session with the amazing Fawn of Sequins and Candy...

It was a wonderful trip and some good hard summer play. With the way the calendar is looking, summer will be over in a blink of an eye... So. What have you been up to?

Abs! Butt! Mental Stability! Sign me up!

I know the scandal du jour with Sketchers shoes has more to do with them marketing "toned up" rears to the pre-tween scene, but I want to talk about a side-effect of these fug bottomed shoes that is SO obviously being overlooked. Apparently, while toning your rear and tightening your abs, these popular shoes also shoot high doses of Valium/Xanax/Extacy through your heels and directly into your bloodstream.

What? You don't believe me? Then let's just ask Brooke Burke:

I mean why else would you skip and twirl through your house and just giggle as your kids shave the dog?

THIS must be what my issue is.

Damn Nikes.

Cinco de Mayo with Kids

As I write this, many 20 somethings are out drinking it up at various establishments with words like "El" and "Casa" and "Burro" in their names. Not us. The illustrious life of parents with young children, we sit here watching NBC's Thursday night line-up, sipping Skinnygirl Margaritas

Earlier today Zoe and I met Christina and boys B & B for lunch at Rubio's - a locally-based fish taco chain. Three kids + lunch-time rush + Mexican food + Mexican Holiday = Insanity. After my third trip to get more napkins/take someone to the potty/get a new fork, Christina and I are desperately trying to piece together a conversation tainted by too many "Where was I?'s". The slurping noise to my left grabs my attention. Waiting for the impending "Mommy, I want mooooore lemonade..." I glance over at my sweet angel from heaven to notice that she has pulled the straw from her drink and is actually sipping the juice out of the bottom of the cup of her side-dish of black beans.

Shrieking "ZOE! THAT'S Disgusting!" I grab the straw away from her and throw it on the table. Be it the heat, exhaustion, kids or lack of tequila on this 5th day of May, Christina and I break down in laughter. Meanwhile, said Angel picks back up the straw and puts it back in her lemonade. Enlisting more laughter from the adults, Zoe looks at us, smiles and says:

"Yes! I am adorable!"
