Don't believe the hype

Out here on the west coast we just got introduced to the insanely popular Dunkin Donuts coffee. All the east coast transplants were foaming at the mouth in anticipation of their favorite coffee now available for purchase at the store. The debates over which is better, S'bucks or DD have been raging. Jason broke down and bought a bag last night since we were out of our usual brew...

And it sucks.

Really, truly. What are you all thinking?

Uh, maybe its your coffee making skillz that SUCK! DD coffee is great! Although its usually better from the store itself. I'll bring you home a bag of amazing, straight from Kenya Kenyan Java House coffee and we'll do a taste test.

I don't get DD coffee either. Maybe it's because I'm a CA native temporarily banished to NJ, but truly? It does not compare to a nice cup of Starbucks french roast.

ok as a born and bred new englander, dunkin donuts is good coffee-but i suggest drinking it with real cream like they make it at the store!

we got a bag free cause my hubby donates blood, not so good at home...but i love a nice cup while i'm out( it's great iced)

starbucks rocks, but i don't have 5 bucks for a cup of coffee i have kids!

I grew up in Maryland and I would go to DD to buy donuts, then run across the street to Starbucks for coffee, before I would drink DD coffee. Blech!

There was a long, long time ago that I loved DD coffee. Then one year they changed their blend. It suddenly tasted like, I dunno, something vaguely resembling coffee, coffee that tasted like it was made with the water from a washing machine rinse cycle.

Somehow, I felt like for the longest time, that I was the only one to notice. And even today around her on the east coast, I hear people say how "wonderful" that dreg is... And it completely confuses me.
